This 1.5-hour coaching-oriented workshop supports Youth Support Specialists in Wraparound developing advocacy skills. Together we will strengthen and deepen learning within advocacy specific to youth peer support specialists in Wraparound. We will actively engage through lecture, discussion, and a responsive/supportive learning environment. 

Our goal is to learn the roots of advocacy and its applications to the important work of wraparound. Participants will walk away with definitions, deeper understanding, and tools for advocacy that they can utilize with their youth, teams, and systems. In addition to this, you will earn 1.5 CEU’s! We hope to see you there. 

Learning Objectives:

• Apply personal and professional values to advocacy decisions.

• Identify, assess, and challenge barriers to advocacy within systems, teams, and oneself, and determine different advocacy strategies respectively.

• Demonstrate advocacy strategies in Wraparound scenarios.

• Select and implement practical advocacy tools that can be used after the training to strengthen youth-centered advocacy in everyday Wraparound practice.

This workshop is a group coaching opportunity and also provides 1.5 continuing education credits for Traditional Health Workers upon completion! ✨
